Green hydrogen and ammonia are essential for the transformation to clean industry, but are still viewed as premium products with high prices. The Envision Chifeng Green Hydrogen Net Zero Industrial Park in China is challenging this idea. As the world’s largest green ammonia plant, it is determined to make the green hydrogen economically competitive with fossil fuels without relying on subsidies or regulations.

Envision Chifeng Green Hydrogen Net Zero Industrial Park in China is challenging the idea that great ammonia is a premium product with a high price. As the world’s largest green ammonia plant, it is determined to make the green hydrogen economically competitive with fossil fuels without relying on subsidies or regulations.
An integrated solution developed by Envision allows the company to implement this vision. This 100% off-grid facility is powered by renewable energy, wind and solar, and capable of producing 320,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually.
We see green hydrogen as the next wave of business opportunity, with large scale associated markets that can be unlocked: AI, electrolysis, wind turbines, BESS, will be integrated together to produce green molecules efficiently.

Chifeng Green Hydrogen Net Zero Industrial Park
The project became fully operational in July 2025 thanks to a combination of this bold vision with a continuous improvement mindset: a commitment to relentlessly reducing costs across all project parts, including renewable energy generators, electrolysers and ammonia reactors.

Mission Possible Partnership | MPP
Mission Possible Partnership (MPP) is an independent non-profit organisation advancing global clean industry transformation. Since 2019, we have been working with some of the most energy-intensive industries: aluminium, aviation, cement, chemicals, shipping and steel, to cut their nearly 25% of global GHG emissions.
We mobilise business, finance, government and civil society leaders to speed up the shift to clean materials, chemicals and fuels. Having charted sectoral pathways to net-zero, we continue to forge new territory, lifting the barriers to enable a critical mass of clean industrial projects to break ground by 2030.
Mission Possible Partnership has people and partners on the ground in North America, Brazil, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa, India and Asia Pacific.
Industrial Transition Accelerator | ITA
The ITA is a global multi-stakeholder platform -managed by Mission Possible Partnership – to fast-track decarbonisation across heavy-emitting industry and transport sectors. It aims to significantly grow the pipeline of commercial-scale, clean industrial projects to reduce emissions by 2030.
Build Clean Now | BCN
Build Clean Now is a global campaign bringing together governments, companies and finance to accelerate the pace at which clean industrial projects are financed and built, year-on-year. It is led by the Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) and Mission Possible Partnership (MPP).
CISRI’s Linyi project in Shandong Province represents one of the most significant breakthroughs in global iron and steel decarbonisation. As an industrial-scale pure hydrogen direct reduced iron (DRI) facility, the project demonstrates China’s ambition to advance to near-zero carbon metallurgy by combining long-term research, abundant renewable energy resources and state-backed industrial innovation.

The flagship project demonstrates a pathway for building green ammonia facilities, with its repurposed brownfield site, access to round-the-clock green power and a lower cost of capital because of its location in India. It also shows the importance of thinking about the entire value chain when looking at the viability of clean industry projects – not just end customers but suppliers as well.
Neste sees sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) as a key lever to decarbonise the aviation industry, with significant expansion planned for its Netherlands facility.
