Developing clean industry across the region
Bringing together industry, investment and policy makers to identify and lift barriers to accelerate clean industrial projects towards final investment decisions and operational production.
The Industrial Transition Accelerator (ITA) is a global multi-stakeholder platform, managed by Mission Possible Partnership, to fast-track decarbonisation in energy-intensive industry and transport sectors. The ITA works in partnership with key players in its programmes in the MENA region, including Egypt.
The ITA’s programme in Egypt, alongside programmes in the UAE and Bahrain is fast-tracking clean industrial growth in the MENA region.
Through a partnership with Egypt’s Industrial Modernisation Centre (IMC), the ITA supports the development of green industrial projects in sectors such as steel, cement, aluminium, chemicals, aviation, and shipping.

North Africa programmes | further reading
China remains the frontrunner in clean industry development, securing a quarter of the $250 billion of investment in clean plants to date, closely followed by the US at 22% and the EU at 14%. But a block of emerging markets including India, Egypt and Brazil, part of the ‘new industrial sunbelt’, is quickly catching up.
