Bright Spot | Norsk e-Fuel
Norsk e-Fuel was founded with the vision of industrialising power-to-liquid (PtL) technology to deliver large-scale sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) production. e-SAF is produced using fossil-free power, water and carbon dioxide captured via a point of source capture or direct air capture. Producing e- F locally ensures urope’s energy security generates jobs and investments.
The company is pursuing a portfolio of four projects across the Nordics, with the ambition to produce 250kt annually in 2032. This strategy is designed to spread risk, accelerate learning and ensure momentum in the event a particular project faces setbacks.
Rauma project is designed to produce around 80,000 tonnes of e-fuels (of which up to 80% will be e-SAF) each year. The project marks the company’s first expansion beyond orway and is set to become a flagship for urope’s aviation decarbonisation drive.
Our portfolio strategy means we want to get 250kt online until 2032 and have multiple potential locations in Northern Europe to deliver this from. Our feedstock and offtake contracts are designed to be flexible and can be adapted to different project locations.
